Chicago Museum Unveils Mega Gingerbread White House

It was Lights! Camera! Action! this morning as crews from Chicago's major media outlets covered the official unveiling of a spectacular, fully-detailed gingerbread White House we arranged for the Cooking and Hospitality Institute of Chicago (CHIC) to create for client Museum of Science and Industry.

Over 150 pounds of sugar, 100 pounds of flour, and mind-boggling amounts chocolate, marzipan, and other sweet treats were used by CHIC's Patisserie and Bakery Professor Marilyn Santos-McNabb and her students to create this wild, 8-foot-long, sprawling confectionery fantasy.

The gingerbread White House remains on display in the Main Entry Hall of the Museum of Science and Industry through January 3, 2010, as part of the Museum's newest exhibit, The White House: A Look Inside.
