Chicago Museum Taps Sawbridge For Smart Home '09

Sawbridge Studios' artisans Margaret Taylor and Simone Wilson scour the rural south looking for salvageable materials for their distinctive craft. The duo breath new life into old woods -- often from vintage barns, homes and public buildings -- turning scrap lumber into beautiful pieces of furniture. Each piece of functional art is a unique patchwork of reclaimed woods.

The Museum of Science and Industry has tapped Sawbridge Studios to provide Margaret and Simone's pieces to furnish the Master Bedroom of their just-reopened Smart Home: Green+Wired '09.

Margaret and Simone are just two of a cadre of over 60 individual American craftsmen and artisans whose work is carried at Sawbridge Studios, making Sawbridge one of the country's largest sources of original handcrafted furniture and accessories.

Sawbridge Studios is located at 153 West Ohio Street, Chicago, Illinois 312-828-0055, and at 1015 Tower Road, Winnetka, Illinois. Call 847-441-2441 or visit the website.
